The C2MI Research Chair in Microfabrication and Integration has the general objective of developing innovative microfabrication and integration materials and processes which will add to the current capabilities of the C2MI and the integrated innovation chain, in order to potentially get ahead of the needs of the microelectronics and microelectromechanical systems market, MEMS.
It also pursues the following specific objectives:
- Integrate microfabrication materials and processes into new platforms allowing the design, simulation, manufacturing and morphological, physical and electrical characterization of new devices or systems.
- Train a highly qualified and specialized generation of scientific and professional professionals who can actively participate in the development and commercialization of essential components of digital technologies.
- Offer, through C2MI, innovative solutions to Quebec and Canadian industries for their existing products, while fueling the research and development component of their new products.
- Present the research results obtained by the chair’s student and professional staff, jointly with the C2MI, in scientific journals and through international conferences.
- Consolidate the integrated innovation chain by creating new research projects.
