Bromont, Québec, February 3, 2022 – Premier François Legault Quebec’s, Minister of Economy and Innovation and Minister Responsible for Regional Economic Development, Pierre Fitzgibbon, and Minister of Higher Education, Danielle McCann, today unveiled the first designations of innovation zones Bromont has been designated an innovation zone for digital technologies, while Sherbrooke has been allocated a quantum sciences zone. The first innovation zones thus ensure that Quebec will have the highly technological skills to meet the many challenges of modern societies.
Bromont’s designation as digital technologies innovation zone is of crucial importance to Quebec’s microelectronics industry, it highlights the strength of its internationally renowned companies, and reinforces the unique collaborative model introduced by C2MI activities.
